RENEE RAPP RECOUNTS STRUGGLING TO PLAY A LESBIAN: Renee Rapp recently recalled struggling to portray a gay character while filming the first season of The Sex Lives Of College Girls. The Mean Girls on Broadway alum told the Call Her Daddy podcast, "I was just in panic constantly. I wasn't straight, but I was so freaked out by the idea of my sexuality not being finite or people laughing at me—or me laughing at myself—that I hated the first year of filming." Rapp, who identifies as a "cis woman who is bisexual" added, "Now I'm on a TV show and I'm very publicly out and accepted as a bisexual woman and on the show as a gay woman. I did not have that same support as a kid and so I resent it in a lot of ways."

REPORT: OLIVIA WILDE LOOKING TO START DATING: Olivia Wilde is ready to date again following her November 2022 split from Harry Styles. An Insider told US Weekly, "Olivia is ready to date again, making it clear she's available, and she isn't looking for anything less than an amazing guy."

HODA KOTB IS DEALING WITH A 'FAMILY HEALTH MATTER:' The Today show revealed Wednesday (March 1st) that Hoda Kotb has been absent from the broadcast for more than a week because of a "family health matter." Her colleague Craig Melvin explained that she and Savannah Guthrie, who has Covid-19, should be returning to the studio soon.

DREW SIDORA AND RALPH PITTMAN FILE FOR DIVORCE: Real Housewives of Atlanta star Drew Sidora and her husband Ralph Pittman are heading for divorce after nearly 10 years of marriage. According to TMZ both parties filed petitions for divorce on February 27th, only one hour apart from one another. Documents say both parties claim the marriage is "irretrievably broken."

ROBERT DE NIRO TO STAR IN NETFLIX SERIES: Deadline reports that Netflix has given a formal limited series order to Zero Day, a conspiracy thriller starring Robert De Niro. This is the first series regular television role for the Meet The Parents star.

ADAM SANDLER TO BE HONORD AT KIDS' CHOICE AWARDS: Adam Sandler will receive the King of Comedy award at the 2023 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. He told Variety Wednesday (March 1st), "I've had so many great times at this fantastic awards extravaganza, and I'll always be excited to hang with da kiddies!! Love to all!"

TREVOR NOAH BOOK TO DROP THIS FALL: Trevor Noah is working on a not-yet-titled book which is due out later this fall. According to The Hollywood Reporter, publisher One World is billing the novel as a "gorgeously illustrated and moving modern fable for readers of all ages about forgiveness, acceptance and the secret to solidarity."

BUSY PHILLIPS JOINS 'MEAN GIRLS': Busy Phillips is not a regular mom. She's a cool mom. Deadline reports the Girls5Eva star has been added to the cast of the movie musical, Mean Girls. She'll take on the role of Regina George's mother, played by Amy Poehler in the original film.

Evan Rachel Wood filed a declaration with the Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday (February 27th), in connection with Marilyn Manson's defamation lawsuit against her, denying the recent claims made by Manson's former accuser, Ashley Morgan Smithline.

"I never pressured or manipulated Ashley Morgan Smithline to make any accusations against Manson," the Westworld actress said. "And I certainly never pressured or manipulated her to make accusations that were not true."

Wood added that Smithline reached out to her on Instagram in March 2019, providing screenshots of their interactions. Also in the filing, the Kajillionaire actress included voicemails left by Smithline for a friend in June 2022, during which she refers to Manson's lawyer Howard King:

"He called… I'll play you the message, it says, 'Hi Ashley, this is Howard King… I'd like to speak with you just one on one directly, no lawyers or something,' he said, 'you know, just talk like people,'" Smithline allegedly says in one of the voicemails. "And the only reason why he would be calling me at all a week ago and leaving a message is that he thinks I'm the weak link and he might want to settle with me to turn on the other girls and say that it was all like, a ruse."

King was the one who submitted Smithline's sworn statement last week, in which she recanted her abuse claims against Manson. In response to Wood's declaration, Smithline told Rolling Stone, "Evan's full of s---. That's my comment. She's saying anything she can to discredit me."

Another Rust lawsuit was filed against Alec Baldwin and the film's producers on Monday (February 27th)—this time by three crew members. Ross Addiego, Doran Curtin, and Reese Price allege that they each suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, following the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

The suit states that all three were close by when the shooting took place and suffered "blast injuries" from the sound of the gun firing. The documents also state that Hutchins fell to the ground right in front of Curtin.

"She watched in shock as Hutchins grabbed at her abdomen," the lawsuit states. "Plaintiff Curtin put her hands on Hutchins' stomach, trying to find the source of Hutchins' pain and figure out what was going on. As the chaos continued, Plaintiff Curtin was ushered out of the church. Once outside, she collapsed from the effects of the blast and the shock of the shooting."

The lawsuit also claims that producers cut corners because they wanted a "quick and cheap production."

Tom Sizemore's family is facing difficult decisions concerning "end-of-life matters" for the Saving Private Ryan actor. Sizemore was hospitalized in February after suffering a brain aneurysm and "has remained in critical condition, in a coma and in intensive care" since.

The Black Hawk Down actor's manager Charles Lago said in a statement, "Today, doctors informed his family that there is no further hope and have recommended end of life decision. The family is now deciding end-of-life matters and a further statement will be issued on Wednesday."

He added, "We are asking for privacy for his family during this difficult time and they wish to thank everyone for the hundreds of messages of support, and prayers that have been received. This has been a difficult time for them."

Riley Keough was deeply moved by Austin Butler's portrayal of her grandfather in Elvis—so much so that the Zola actress told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest she "was in tears for a week" after she saw the film.

On Monday's (February 27th) episode of Live With Kelly and Ryan, Keough spoke of Butler's performance. "I think he was outstanding and incredible," she said. "I couldn't have imagined anyone being able to pull off what he did in terms of embodying my grandfather. It was really shocking and emotional. It totally blew me away."

Keough added that previous portrayals of her grandfather felt like "caricatures," but that Butler captured his "humanity."

"I was in tears for a week because of the film, but also because of his performance," she said.

KHLOE KARDASHIAN IS ‘TOTALLY OK' AFTER HAVING FACIAL TUMOR REMOVED: On Sunday (February 26th), Khloe Kardashian shared a gym selfie to Instagram in which she had a small "scar strip" on her face. "And what the heck is on your cheek," one fan commented. Kardashian replied, "A bandage. I had a tumor removed from my face but I'm totally OK. Thank you for asking." According to Entertainment Tonight, the Kardashians star first opened up about her skin cancer scare in October 2022. In another comment, Kardashian said, "I had a tumor removed from my face a few months ago so I wear this for healing and the prevention of my scar getting worse … All is great and healing wonderfully."

BRUCE WILLIS' WIFE IS WORKING WITH DEMENTIA SPECIALIST FOLLOWING HIS FTD DIAGNOSIS: Bruce Willis' wife, Emma Heming Willis, took to Instagram on Monday (February 27th) to share that she's been working with dementia specialist Teepa Snow, following the Die Hard actor's frontotemporal dementia diagnosis. KARAN SONI JOINS ‘SPIDER-MAN: ACROSS THE SPIDER-VERSE:' According to The Hollywood Reporter, Deadpool star Karan Soni has joined the cast of Marvel's animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Soni will voice Pavitr Prabhakar, known as Spider-Man India in an alternate universe.

DEBBIE ALLEN COMMENTS ON ELLEN POMPEO'S ‘DEPARTURE' FROM ‘GREY'S ANATOMY:' Debbie Allen spoke with Entertainment Tonight at the Creed III premiere Monday (February 27th) about Ellen Pompeo's "last episode" of Grey's Anatomy. "You know, Meredith Grey is taking a journey to another direction, but she's still alive. She'll still be coming back to the show. But she is definitely taking a departure," Allen told the outlet. "The truth is, it's not her last episode. She's leaving Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, not Grey's Anatomy."

Mark Wahlberg and the Screen Actors Guild Awards are facing criticism after the Ted actor presented the award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture to the cast of Everything Everywhere All at Once. People questioned the decision as the film's cast is predominantly Asian, and Wahlberg was convicted of assaulting two Vietnamese men in 1988.

Journalist Jeff Yang tweeted, "It must have been quite a shock for Mark Wahlberg to witness a group of Asians beating white people."

Writer Bonnie Stiernberg added, "I gotta say, having Mark Wahlberg, who literally went to jail as a teen for committing a hate crime against a Vietnamese man, present an award to the cast of Everything Everywhere All At Once was certainly a choice."

During the 1988 assault, Wahlberg knocked one of the men unconscious with a wooden stick, and investigators noted that the Father Stu actor hurled racial slurs at them. He only served 45 days out of a two-year prison sentence.

Courteney Cox received her Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Monday (February 27th), becoming the 2,750th person to do so. Her Friends costars Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow were there to celebrate her.

"We're very honored to be here today to speak on your behalf as your co-workers, your friends, and your family, your sisters," Aniston said. Kudrow chimed in, "It's been that way since we met almost 30 years ago." At this, Aniston quipped, "No, not 30 years ago. That's a typo." Together the pair recalled first meeting Cox and poked fun at her quirks before sharing touching tributes.

On Monday (February 27th), Hayden Panettiere's family revealed her brother Jansen's cause of death. Jansen died unexpectedly at the age of 28 earlier this month.

"Though it offers little solace, the Medical Examiner reported Jansen's sudden passing was due to cardiomegaly (enlarged heart), coupled with aortic valve complications," the family said in a statement.

Remembering Jansen, his mother Lesley Vogel, father Skip Panettiere and sister, Hayden Panettiere, said, "Jansen's heart could be seen in his eyes, and his charm in his brilliant, engaging smile; his soul in his masterful and revealing paintings, and the joy of life in his dry wit."

They added, "His charisma, warmth, compassion for others, and his creative spirit will live forever in our hearts and in the hearts of all whom he encountered."

KEKE PALMER WELCOMES HER FIRST CHILD TO THE WORLD WITH DARIUS JACKSON: Keke Palmer took to Instagram on Monday (February 27th) to announce that she gave birth to her baby boy, Leodis Andrellton Jackson, over the weekend. The Nope actress shared photos of baby Leo as well as video from the hospital with her boyfriend, Darius Jackson. "Born during Black History Month, with a name to match," she wrote in the caption. SALLY FIELD REMEMBERS ROBIN WILLIAMS: Prior to the 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, where Sally Field was presented with the Life Achievement Award, the Steel Magnolias actor remembered her Mrs. Doubtfire costar, the late Robin Williams. "There isn't a moment of (that film) that's not filled with my love and joy at being in his presence," she said during People and Entertainment Weekly Red Carpet Live Sunday (February 26th). "I mean, Robin was Robin. He was everything he seemed to be: a generous, loving, sweet, geniously talented man." She added, "We all miss him. He should be growing old like me, for God's sakes. I hate it that he isn't here." Williams suffered from Lewy body dementia and died by suicide in 2014.

JAMIE LEE CURITS COMMENTS ON KISSING MICHELLE YEOH AT THE SAG AWARDS: Jamie Lee Curtis was so excited when she won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role at the Screen Actors Guild Awards Sunday (February 26th) that she kissed her Everything Everywhere All at Once costar Michelle Yeoh on the lips. HODA KOTB SHARES CRYPTIC QUOTES AMID ‘TODAY' SHOW ABSENCE: According to Page Six, Today show fans are wondering when host Hoda Kotb is going to return, as she's been missing from the show for a week. During this time, Kotb has shared multiple cryptic quotes to her Instagram page. On Monday (February 27th), she shared an image that read "Choose Hope." One fan commented, "Hoping all is well with you and your family. Miss seeing you in the morning." Another wrote, "I know we will know what's going on with time. JENNFER COOLIDGE COMMENTS ON CAMPAIGN TO GET PAMELA ANDERSON ON ‘THE WHITE LOTUS:' Entertainment Tonight spoke with Jennifer Coolidge at the Screen Actors Guild Sunday (February 26th), asking her what she thinks of the Twitter campaign to have Pamela Anderson star on the next season of The White Lotus. "Oh wow," Coolidge said. "I just recently saw Pam's documentary and I called 100 people to watch it. And I swear to God, we all had the same reaction. It's amazing. The 29th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were held on Sunday (February 26th), airing on Netflix's YouTube channel as the streaming platform continues to develop its live streaming technology. There was no host for the 2023 ceremony, falling in line with the 2020 and 2021 shows.

The night's big winner was Everything Everywhere All at Once, taking home four awards in total including Outstanding Cast in a Motion Picture. "I think if I speak, my heart will explode," Michelle Yeoh said, accepting the award for Outstanding Female Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture. According to Variety, Yeoh made history as the first Asian actress to win in this category.

Jamie Lee Curtis kissed Yeoh on the mouth when she won Outstanding Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture, and Ke Huy Quan teared up while accepting the award for Outstanding Male Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture. "This is a really emotional moment for me. Recently, I was told that if I would win tonight, I would become the very first Asian actor to win in this category," Quan said. "When I heard this, I quickly realized that this moment no longer belongs to just me. It also belongs to everyone who has asked for change. When I stepped away from acting, it's because there were so few opportunities."

Brendan Fraser won Outstanding Male Actor in a Leading Role in a Motion Picture for his role in The Whale. Fraser recalled how proud he was when he first got his SAG card in 1991. "If you told that guy back then that I'd be standing right here, I would not have believed you," he said. "I never would have believed that I would have been offered the role of my life in this character, Charlie."

The White Lotus won the most awards for television, taking home Best Ensemble in a Drama Series, while Jennifer Coolidge won Outstanding Female Actor in a Drama Series. Sam Elliott took home the award for Outstanding Male Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for his role in 1883, calling the win "the most meaningful acknowledgement of his 55-year career."

The evening's presenters included Zendaya, Paul Mescal, Aubrey Plaza, Jenna Ortega, Eugene Levy, Emily Blunt, Jason Bateman, Orlando Bloom, Ariana DeBose, and Diego Luna. One highlight included a Parks and Recreation reunion between Amy Poehler and Adam Scott. "You know what?" Poehler said to Scott. "What?" he asked. "Your mother's butt!" she replied.

Andrew Garfield presented his The Amazing Spider-Man costar Sally Field with the SAG Life Achievement Award, telling her she "evokes awe in every actor's heart." He then introduced a montage from her extensive career including her roles in Gidget, The Flying Nun, Steel Magnolias, and Norma Rae.

"I first found a stage when I was 12 years old, in the seventh grade," Field said during her acceptance speech, recalling her school's drama department. "Offstage I felt shy and careful and hidden. But onstage I never knew what I would say or do. I would surprise myself. I wasn't looking for the applause, or attention, even though that's nice."

She added, "Acting, to me, has always been about finding those few, precious moments when I feel totally, utterly, sometimes dangerously alive. The task has always been to find a way to get to that."

The 2023 NAACP Image Awards were held on Saturday (February 25th), hosted by Queen Latifah and broadcasted live on BET. Angela Bassett, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and Abbott Elementary were the evening's big winners.

Bassett accepted the award for Entertainer of the Year during the live ceremony and referenced Ariana DeBose's rap at the BAFTAs. "I guess Angela Bassett did the thing," she said. She also thanked Black Panther: Wakanda Forever director Ryan Coogler, saying he "showed us that we are royalty and he built the crown for us all to wear." Bassett took home Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series for her work on 9-1-1 as well.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever won Best Motion Picture, taking home eight wins overall. Abbott Elementary was the big winner for television, winning Best Comedy Series and taking home six awards in total.

Despite being snubbed by the Oscars, Viola Davis won Outstanding Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in The Woman King, a movie that she said was "nothing but high-octane bravery."

Will Smith won the award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture for his work in Emancipation. He took to Instagram on Saturday (February 26th) to thank the NAACP. "WOW!! NAACP!! I am absolutely humbled by this!!" he wrote.

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade were honored with the prestigious President's Award. Wade paid tribute to his trans daughter Zaya, who legally changed her name on Friday (February 24th). "I want to take this moment to publicly speak to our daughter Zaya. Zaya, as your father, all I've wanted to do is get it right. I have sat back and watched how gracefully you've taken on the public scrutiny. And even though it's not easy, I've watched you walk out of the house every morning as yourself," he said. "I admire how you've handled the ignorance in our world. To say that your village is proud of you is an understatement."

Brian Austin Green took to his Instagram stories over the weekend to share his side of the story regarding his ex-fiancé Vanessa Marcil's recent co-parenting claims.

During a Q&A on her Instagram stories, a fan asked Marcil about her experience co-parenting her 20-year-old son, Kassius, with Green. "We didn't & don't co-parent. I raised my son alone," Marcil said.

Following this, Green shared a screenshot of Marcil's comment to his Instagram stories. "So, I can't tell you how frustrating it is to read continued lies from a 50+ year old woman on social media like she is still in high school," he wrote.

The 90210 star continued, bringing his ex-wife Megan Fox into the picture as well. "She has never in her life been someone to walk the walk. Talk is cheap. Megan and I bust our asses to give Kass a well rounded childhood since his mom was rarely there. I'm assuming that's why she posts so much of him now. When will she just GO AWAY."

On Sunday (February 26th), family and friends honored Olivia Newton-John during a state memorial service held at the Hamer Hall in Arts Centre in Melbourne, Australia. Stars such as Pink, Elton John, Mariah Carey, and Nicole Kidman shared video tributes to the late actress and singer.

Newton-John's husband, John Easterling, and her daughter, Chloe Rose Lattanzi, gave emotional speeches during the live-stream.

"My heart is broken in two, the other half is with my mama. I know she's holding it for me until we meet again," Lattanzi said. "I stand here before you so desperately, wanting to feel strong and confident and speak eloquently, but the truth is I feel like a little girl lost without her mother."

She added, "I know she's here, standing beside me and within me. I can hear her voice, saying, 'You're safe, my darling. Don't be afraid. You're so much stronger than you think. Speak from your heart. That's all you have to do.' "

Ray Liotta received a posthumous Hollywood Walk of Fame star on Friday (February 24th) that his daughter, Karsen, accepted for him. She also read a tribute written by Martin Scorsese during the ceremony.

"I'm sorry that I can't be there in person today for the unveiling of the star for Ray Liotta," the letter read. "After Goodfellas, I always expected that I would work with Ray again. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania held onto the top spot at the domestic box office over the weekend, beating out Cocaine Bear's successful debut. However, Deadline reports that the film saw the biggest drop for an MCU film in its second weekend, falling 69% from last week with $32.2 million.

While Cocaine Bear didn't claim the number one spot, the film did outperform projections, bringing in $23.09 million. Universal's Jim Orr told the outlet, "This is a tremendous debut for Cocaine Bear, an outrageous comedy so well-crafted by director Elizabeth Banks. Audiences across North America were eager to see this original, hysterical film that continues what is shaping up to be a very good year at the domestic box office."

On Thursday (February 23rd), Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 16 additional years in prison for a rape conviction in Los Angeles. The disgraced Hollywood mogul is currently serving a 23-year term for his sexual assault conviction in New York in 2020.

In December, jurors found Weinstein guilty on three counts in the Los Angeles trial. All counts pertained to a woman referred to as Jane Doe 1, who said Weinstein raped her at her hotel when she was in town for the Los Angeles Italia Film Festival in 2013.

Weinstein was also found not guilty of sexual battery involving another accuser, referred to as Jane Doe 2. Jurors were unable to reach decisions regarding accusations by Jane Doe 3 and Jane Doe 4.

His legal team filed an appeal requesting a new trial, but Superior Court Judge Lisa B. Lench denied the request.

Alec Baldwin has pleaded not guilty to the involuntary manslaughter charges brought against him by New Mexico prosecutors regarding the fatal Rust shooting, which resulted in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. As a result, he will no longer be appearing in court on Friday (February 24th).

A judge declared on Thursday (February 23rd) that the 30 Rock actor is to have limited contact with potential witnesses as Rust plans to resume filming. He is also prohibited from consuming alcohol and possessing weapons, including firearms.

District Judge Mary Marlowe said in a statement, "Defendant is permitted to have contact with potential witnesses only ... in connection with completing the ‘Rust' movie and other related and unrelated business matters; provided, however, that defendant is not permitted to discuss the accident at issue."

A preliminary hearing is expected within a few months.
