Everclear's leader Art Alexakis revealed back in 2019 he's been battling multiple sclerosis. He explained he was diagnosed with "relapsing-remitting MS" following a car accident in 2006.

Alexakis told us that the band's been excited by the changes in their current setlists: "Yeah, we got a new setlist, it's different than what we've been playing the last two or three years. We took some old songs out of it, put some new songs and old songs, and, like, four songs we haven't been playing -- and also some of the fan favorites. We mix that a little bit, moved that around. It's exciting and fun for us to play. And I think if the band's havin' fun, the crowd's gonna have fun."

Mark Tremonti Speaks On Alter Bridge's Upcoming Album Pawns & Kings

During a new interview with Ian Danter of Planet Rock's My Planet Rocks, Alter Bridge guitarist Mark Tremonti opened up about the band's seventh album Pawns & Kings, which is due out this fall. Mark said, "We're very proud of it. Our producer is absolutely in love with the record. I think if you're a fan of ALTER BRIDGE, you'll dig this record. We're very happy with it."

When asked if there will be any "heavy" Tremonti riffs on "Pawns & Kings", Mark said, "There are some heavy riffs on there. And it's funny because some of the heaviest riffs on the record Myles Kennedy brought to the table. Even my producer is, like, 'I can't tell who's bringing what to the table anymore. 'Cause back when the band started, you were the heavy guy and Myles was the moody guy — he would bring in the ballady things — and we'd mix them up. And now you never know.' I think when you work with somebody long enough,

Alter Bridge is set to hit the road in the UK this winter.

Billy Joel Joined By Joe Elliott At Detroit Stadium Gig

Billy Joel welcomed Def Leppard frontman Joe Elliott during his Saturday night (July 9th) show at Detroit's Comerica Park. Elliott, who's joined the "Piano Man" onstage twice before -- back in 2018 at Boston's Fenway Park and the following year at Madison Square Garden, led the band through Leppard's signature 1987 classic, "Pour Some Sugar On Me."

Billy Joel told us he feels lucky to still be performing at the top of his game these days: "I kind of have a split opinion about it. Part of me thinks it's absurd. I'm 73-years-old and I'm doin' the same gig I was doin' when I was 16. Y'know, this is a job for a young person and I am now considered elderly and I'm still doin' the same crazy-ass job -- so, that part of it is kinda absurd. The other part of it to me is it's wonderful. I've picked a great job to have. They're payin' me all kinds of money, the audiences are bigger than they ever were, people are still comin' to see me -- and there's a lot of young people out in the crowd, who somehow know my stuff and that's wonderful! I'm a lucky guy."

Shinedown's Zach Myers 'Could Give A Flying S**t' About Awards

Shinedown has never been nominated for a Grammy, and that's just fine with band member Zach Myers. The guitar player recently told Audio Ink Radio, "I don't care about awards . . . I can't express enough how much I could give a flying s**t about winning (a Grammy). Honestly. I know tons of bands that win Grammys that can't draw 200 people in St. Louis, Missouri. So I don't need a trophy to know that the work has affected people . . ."

He added, "We've never been nominated for a Grammy, (but) we sell out arenas. We've had more No. 1 Billboard active rock songs than any band ever. But we've never been nominated for a Grammy . . ."

Myers explained that as he gets older, his idea of success changes. "For me, I don't look at success in a vacuum. I don't look at this thing and go, 'Oh, this has to be this,' or whatever. For me, personally, I look at it as, do people come and see my band play? Okay. Do people like what they hear when we put stuff out on the radio? Okay. Then you know what? Then I'm set. I don't need anything else. I don't need any of this. I don't need to be this guy who has all these things and is nominated for every award."

Shinedown recently tied with Foo Fighters for having the most Top 10s in the history of Billboard's Mainstream Rock Airplay chart with the recent addition of "Daylight" into the Top 10.

Shinedown's Planet Zero World Tour kicks off in Bonner Springs, Kansas on September 3rd with special guests Jelly Roll and John Harvie.

Ex Three Days Grace Bassist Says Reunion With Ex Vocalist Adam Gontier For HS Honor Was 'Powerful'

Former Three Days Grace singer Adam Gontier and two members of the band's current lineup, including bassist Brad Walst and his younger brother, vocalist Matt Walst, were inducted into the Norwood District High School Hall of Honor late last month in Norwood,Ontario, Canada.

During a radio interview, Brad Walst said, "It's funny 'cause the high school's been calling us for years. And, obviously, we've all had kind of different schedules, and Adam's been doing his thing and we've been doing our thing. And until recently, to be honest, we hadn't really spoken that much — we'd text and stuff. But Adam's moved back to the area, and he's got a great family and a great wife. And we've all kind of been chatting and hanging out. Yeah, I called him and just said, 'They want the three of us' — they want Matt, Adam and myself. And everyone agreed, and it was, like, 'Okay, let's do this.'"

He continued, "So it was pretty cool to see our high school, where you grew up… It's nice to be acknowledged."

He added, "It's funny, 'cause I texted Adam, 'You made the Hall Of Fame.' He's, like, 'Yup. Straight-B student.' Laughs But I think just having us together in that room was way more powerful, for sure. So it was a pretty cool feeling."

Joe Perry Won't Rule Out Another Aerosmith Album

Guitarist Joe Perry won't rule out another album from Aerosmith. The band, which is dealing with such personal issues as the death of drummer Joey Kramer's wife Linda last month and frontman Steven Tyler's recent stint in rehab, will be back on the boards come September 4th in Bangor, Maine.

While appearing on SiriusXM's Trunk Nation With Eddie Trunk, Joe Perry spoke about the possibility of the band writing material during their upcoming Las Vegas residency, marking their first new music since 2012's Music From Another Dimension.

Blabbermouth transcribed some of Perry's chat, in which he revealed, "For a long while after that record came out, I thought. . . 'Cause we put everything on that -- every riff that we had lying around. Then I was thinking, 'Why bother?' We've got all this other material that we need to release that the fans, I think, would love to hear -- different versions of 'Dream On,' studio quality. But you never know."

Perry went on to say, "I mean, Steven, our villas are, like side by side, in Vegas (during our Vegas residency). So you never know. If you've got some inspiration, it doesn't take long to write a song. Whether it's great or not, you don't know. But all I can say is you never know. I would hate to think that was the last one. But we've got so much stuff out there, it's hard to think about trying to do something new. But what the hell? You never know."

Joe Perry told us that ultimately, the thrill of what Aerosmith accomplished musically trumps all the problems that the band has endured due to drugs, women, management, and ego issues: "It's really the five of us, y'know, as a band. And it's still exciting to walk out onstage with these guys. And that, I think, is the glue that keeps us coming back. Sometimes I ask that question myself, y'know, ‘Why am I still doin' it?' Well, when I walk out onstage in Moscow and everybody out there is singing words to songs that we wrote in the basement, or, y'know, in some studio somewhere. It's nothin' short of a miracle, y'know? And so we kind of have a lot of respect for that."

Machine Gun Kelly Regrets Feud With Corey Taylor

Machine Gun Kelly opens up about his ongoing beef with Slipknot's Corey Taylor in his new documentary, Life In Pink, and he seems to regret the very public feud. MGK and Taylor each verbally attacked the other over a collaboration they did for MGK's Tickets To My Downfall album which didn't make the cut, but now MGK says, "I should have just picked up the phone and been like, 'Hey dude, why would you say that?' But, instead, we all acted ridiculous."

Both acts were on the bill at Riot Fest in Chicago last September when the issue escalated. Loudwire.com reports that MGK criticized Slipknot onstage and claimed that Taylor was "bitter" over the thwarted collaboration.

For his part, Taylor reportedly insulted MGK in a February 2021 interview.

In the new Hulu documentary, MGK said, "That situation's unfortunate because I think both of us let our egos get in the way. I was a fan of Slipknot. I was a fan of Corey. That's why I'd asked him to get on Tickets to My Downfall. He obviously had mutual respect, too, because he cut a verse. I kind of tried to give notes back like, 'Oh, you know, this wasn't exactly what I was looking for, can we try this?' And respectfully he was like, you know, 'No.' And I was like, 'Okay, cool.' So we didn't use it. You know, then I heard him on a podcast."

Gene Simmons Regrets Original Kiss Members Can't Come To Terms With The Band

As Kiss carries on with its ongoing farewell tour, Gene Simmons maintains that Ace Frehley and Peter Criss' absence is of their own doing. During a chat with Chaoszine, Simmons was pressed about the band's two co-founders staying away from the reunion trek in any capacity: "We've tried. I keep trying. Paul (Stanley) and I met with Ace. Tried to convince him to come back. He said, 'I want this, I want that, I want that.' (We said) 'Well, we can't do that.' I asked Ace and Peter to be in the (Kisstory) documentary. They said no. They might do it if they have complete control of the edit. Well, I said, 'You can't do that because even we don't have that. But I won't control what you say. You can say whatever you want.' The answer is no, both of them. I asked Ace and Peter, 'Come out on tour. We'll get you your own room and everything. Come out on the encores.' Ace said, 'No. The only way I'd come out is if I'm the Spaceman and you ask Tommy (Thayer) to leave.' I go, 'Well, that's not going to happen.' First of all, I care about Ace, but he's not in shape. He can't play that way and doesn't have the physical stamina to do that."

Simmons went on to explain how he feels about Frehley and Criss -- but couldn't help but remain logical in not wanting history to repeat itself: "Look, we care about them. We started this thing together, and they were equally important to the beginning of the band with Paul and I. No question. But as time went on, not everybody is designed to run a marathon. Some people are designed to be in a band for a year or two, a few years, and then that's all they can do. And both of them have been in the band three different times. How many chances in life do you get?. . . The answer is, the door is always open."

He added: "If they want to jump on stage at any time and do the encores with us, terrific. But no, we're not going to get rid of Tommy or Eric. In fact, Tommy and Eric (Singer) are the best things that happened to us. They gave us new life, new appreciation for what we do because they were fans first. And every once in a while, Eric or Tommy will turn around and say, 'Wow, isn't this great?' And it makes us realize, 'Yeah. Wow, isn't this great?'"

Simmons also intimated that personal issues aren't the only ones keeping his former-bandmates from joining up: "When I called to invite Peter to be in the documentary, his health isn't what it should be. I don't want to get too specific because it's part of his private life. But no, physically, he wouldn't be able to do it. Neither would Ace."

Last year, while chatting on SiriusXM's Jim & Sam Show, Paul Stanley laid out why the third time with Frehley and Criss would absolutely not prove to be "the charm": "You may want mom and dad to be back together -- but it didn't work out. We had amazing moments and amazing times, and we did some phenomenal things together, which tie me to them forever. But that's not the fairytale; it doesn't end there. It's great to look back on, but you go back and it's not the same anymore. And you quickly realize -- as we did -- why it didn't work out the first time. That's why it didn't work out the second time."

Kiss performs tonight (July 7th) Zurich, Switzerland in Hallendstadium.

Their next U.S. show is set for September 21st at West Palm Beach's IThink Financial Amphitheatre.

Sammy Hagar Confirms He's Earned More Money Away From Rock

Sammy Hagar confirmed to TMZ that he's earned more money from his non-musical endeavors than he has from rock. Blabbermouth transcribed some of the "Red Rocker's" chat in which he clarified his fortunes were mainly earned away from the stage: "It's true. Yes. It's absolutely true. It's what's made it so great for me. I'm telling you, guys -- I swear by this -- if you get lucky enough to get successful outside of music, it makes it so much better in your elder years. Like now, I'm in my 70's and I'm still going and playing music. And you know why? Because I don't have to do it for a living; I don't have to make it my business. So I can pay my band more than they can make (playing with anyone else). They're happy, and so they're happy to play with me. We all walk out on stage and we're happy to do it 'cause we don't have to do it.

Hagar, who sold his full stake in his Cabo Wabo tequila back in 2010 for around $85 million -- and is still very involved with his ongoing brands of rum and tequila, went on to say, "A lot of people are doing (music) for money, and they go out and they punch a clock. So we do it for fun. It's almost like we're in a garage band again because I make my living another way and music is something I just love to do. But if someone said, 'Hey, you're gonna play 150 shows this year,' I'd tell 'em, 'I quit.' Because I know I would get pissed off and I'd be saying, 'Oh, I've gotta do a show tonight, man. There's a great boxing match on.' Or, 'I wanna take my wife out and go and have a nice dinner.'"

Back in the day, Sammy Hagar told us how proud he was of the success his tequila attained in a relatively short time: "That tequila thing was such a. . . It wasn't a gamble. I don't even have the right words. It was such a, a little, small-time little thing that I did -- like a little hobby for fun that exploded -- and I just had to grab on to it and I've just been on this ride. Y'know, it's like jumping on the back of a rocket ship, y'know, and holding on for dear life."

Sammy Hagar & The Circle perform on Friday (July 8th) in Prior Lake, Minnesota at Lakefront Music Fest.

Machine Gun Kelly Nearly Dropped By Prop Helicopter

Machine Gun Kelly was nearly dropped onto the stage by a prop helicopter at his Detroit stop Sunday (July 3rd).
