Tell it like it is; people like you and Joe Rogan (who gives platforms to liars like alex jones etc.); you come into a ton of money, see the tax bill, despise paying your fair share, and then think moving to Texas and supporting whatever republican you can is going to help you keep more of your money (How else could trump possibly interest you?)."

He added, "You intend to give platforms to known liars and wash your hands like pontius pilate and claim no responsibility? trump was removed from twitter because he incited violence multiple times, people died and were injured as a result of his lies and his ego, (let alone what his coup did to attempt to destroy democracy and our Capitol)."

  • "Wow. Thank you so much. This is so meaningful to me. I want to start by saying that every award that I ever win will always first and foremost be dedicated to the queer community at large. You guys have carved out such a space for me to be myself and to write music about it, and I've never felt safer or more loved and more supported, and I hope I can give you some semblance of that same feeling in my music. On the heels of what happened in Colorado Springs, I want to remind everyone how important queer visibility is and how important our community is. And I want to direct your attention to organizations like Glad and the Trevor project. • "This short film was ten years in the making, and the only reason I got to write and direct the short film is because you the fans chose the song all too well. You chose it. No one at a record label chose it. You picked it. You said that is the song that matters to us, and it just so happens that it was the song that mattered the most to me. So, I'm very happy we agreed on that. • "You know, in the past few years, I have released more music than I did in the entire decade preceding that, and I really feel like that's down to the fact that you, the fans, made it clear that you wanted to hear lots of music that I would make. You encouraged me. And so, I found that the more music I made and the more music I put out, the happier I was. The more I just kept that channel open and just kept creating, kept making things, and the more that happened, the more you guys were like, yeah, keep doing it. And the happier I was, so I have the fans to thank, essentially, for my happiness and -- cheers and applause -- And I love you more than I can say. I cannot express how unbelievable it is to me that I still get to do this and that you still care, so thank you underlined with 13 exclamation points. I don't know what to say. I love you. Lionel Richie accepts Icon Award

  • "I want to thank my kids and the mothers of my kids for keeping my kids together. Very important. And then of course there's the people along the way. Friends who have supported. Bruce, my manager, who is absolutely a dream manager. Lisa, who is actually more of the adult in the room because she has to deal with me. I'm the kid. I'm the child. But what I want to say and take this time to do is to talk to the young superstars. God has given you a light. That light is special. That light is only given to a few. When you hear the word hip, it means today. When you hear the word inspiring, it means forever. If you get a chance to have that light on you, understand what god has in store. He is not trying to tell you that your car looks great, your clothes look great. He's trying -- he/she, mother, God is trying to tell you that you are chosen to inspire. Take this opportunity. That light is on you. Inspire. God bless you all. Thank you very much. Cheers and applause" 1:49 OC...you very much Cheers and applause

He went on to say, "I feel for the people of Ukraine and everything that they've had to deal with and experience and are continuing to experience. It's horrific to watch the play-by-play of a full-scale war."

Jack White Covers Nirvana Classic In Concert

Jack White covered Nirvana's 1993's "Heart Shaped Box" during his November 16th concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Ultimate-Guitar.com posted video clips of White performing the In Utero favorite while on the road promoting his recent companion albums, Fear Of The Dawn and Entering Heaven Alive.

"Heart Shaped Box" was the lead single from Nirvana's final studio album, In Utero. The song topped Billboard's Alternative Songs chart.

Although he has not spoken about specific artists in the past, Jack White has never been afraid to share his opinions, as when he commented on the state of rock music itself a few years back: "It's changed definitions over the years, y'know? Now it's sort of an energy drink, isn't it? So it's become an iconic sort of T-shirt at Target or something like that. I think that it's gonna be redefined again in the next 10 years. In more of the '60s and '70s, it was such a mystery and untouchable-ness to it. And now like in the age of sort of reality television, so many things are accessible that it's changing."

Jack White performs tonight (November 21st) in Christchurch, New Zealand at Christchurch Town Hall.

His next North American show is set for December 3rd at Fort Lauderdale's Audacy Beach Festival.

Disturbed Drops Their Eighth Studio Album 'Divisive'

Out today, Nov. 18, is Divisive, the eighth studio album from Disturbed. The 10-song set is the follow-up to 2018's Evolution, which at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Disturbed recorded the album during February in Nashville with new producer Drew Fulk, who's previously worked with Papa Roach, Motionless in White, Pop Evil, We Came as Romans and others, and Divisive has been advanced by the singles "Hey You," "Unstoppable" and, earlier this week, "Bad Man."

Guitarist Dan Donegan tells us that songwriting for Divisive began during the fall of 2021, while Disturbed was playing some live dates and stopped at producer Fortman's house in Fort Myers, Fla., just to jam and work on some ideas. That got the band -- Donegan, frontman David Draiman, bassist John Moyer and drummer Mike Wengren -- back into the creative mode and ready to record by the time they got to Nashville. Donegan says the goal was to mix classic elements of the Disturbed sound with some of the fresh production techniques Fulk brought to the table: "I thought the marriage between us and him would be a good one, of us trying to bring back those signature Disturbed elements of the guitar riffs and syncopated drums and getting David (Draiman) back into some of the animalistic sounds out of him, combined with some of the newer, fresher production elements and electronic elements that Drew has done with some of his other artists."

"Hey You," which hit No. 1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart after it was released in July, was one of the first things Disturbed worked on and helped put Divisive on track, according to Donegan: "Definitely 'Hey You' was one of the first ones, the first single off this album. That was one of the riffs that had to be within the first two or three ideas. I think it was actually the first idea. It just came to me. I remember just the groove of the song, the tempo as we were there in Fort Myers...It just came out quit. David can very quickly come up with melodies, too. So it was done very fast."

Divisive also features the first duet ever on a Disturbed album, with Heart's Ann Wilson on the track "Don't Tell Me." Draiman has acknowledged that some of his lyrics are influenced by the current political and social climate, including the title track and "Won't Back Down."

With Divisive out Donegan says Disturbed is looking forward to a busy 2023. The group has a few dates already on the books -- May 4 in Milwaukee, May 6 in St. Paul, Minn., June 7 at Nova Rock in Austria and the weekend of June 8 at the Download Festival in the U.K. -- but he anticipates a Disturbed will be on the road for much of the year, and is looking forward to it: "Right now the band just wants to get back up there on stage....We want to play this new material. We want to have what was taken from us, from the world, having to be put on pause for the pandemic. So we're ready to hit it. On paper we have dates and an idea; now it's kind of up to management and promoters to help us make it happen. We're just excited to know that there's a light at the end of the tunnel here and get back to where we love being, and that's on stage."

The track listing for Divisive includes:

Nickelback Returns With Their 10th Studio Album Get Rollin'

Five years after Feed the Machine, Nickelback is back today with its 10th studio album, Get Rollin'. The 11-song set was produced by the band with longtime collaborator Chris Baseford and was preceded by the single "San Quentin," which is the quartet's 20th Top 10 single on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

Nickelback toured to promote Feed the Machine and rather than make a new album had decided to put together 2020 tour celebrating the 15th anniversary of its Diamond-certified album All the Right Reasons. The idea was scuttled by the pandemic, and bassist Mike Kroeger tells us that Nickelback gradually worked its way back to a new album during the interim: "When the Earth stopped spinning we had to consider other things, and we thought about moving it the tour forward a year and that looked like pretty much a pie in the sky idea. So we decided to box it up and wait and see, and then so much time passed that it was necessary to make a new album. I guess instead of celebrating the 15th anniversary of All the Right Reasons we'll wait 'til 20, I dunno."

Frontman Chad Kroeger, who wrote or co-wrote all of the songs, tells us that Get Rollin' was put together gradually at different writing and recording sessions rather than in one fell swoop: "At no point in time did we say, "let's make an album.' It was, 'Might as well go in the studio again'...There wasn't this concerted effort to make an album. It was just creativity just sort of creep along, and before we knew it we had enough songs for an album. We sort of looked around and, 'Well, there's a body of work here. We should probably think about releasing a record.'"

Kroeger adds that "San Quentin," inspired by his own visit to the famed state prison in Marin County, Calif., was one of the tracks on the album that took Nickelback the longest to complete: "The slowest climber had to have been 'San Quentin' because the guitar riff was there, and I just went, 'Can somebody please keep me the hell out of San Quentin,' and that was the only thing that was on there. And I'd listen to it once in awhile... So, I mean...it probably took a year and a half to finish that song. It was like, 'Oh, now we need a guitar solo. It's gonna be another couple months here.' But it was nice. It was great to be able to sit back and listen to it and make sure we went in the direction we wanted to go."

Nickelback is currently planning a tour the band members expect to start around June of 2023.

The track listing for Get Rollin' includes:

San Quentin
Skinny Little Missy
Those Days
High Time
Vegas Bomb
Tidal Wave
Does Heaven Even Know You're Missing
Steel Still Rusts
Horizon

Fred Durst Was 'Taken Aback' By The Durst Burst Guitar

Chibson USA founder Jason USA has opened up about how Fred Durst feels about the Durst Burst, a guitar with Durst's face in it. Jason revealed the moment that he presented the guitar to Durst, saying, "Taken aback by the iconic instrument, Fred asked me if this was some type of a deeply-layered attempt at trolling. I did not have the heart to tell him that the whole idea had come to me in a dream and that I believe that the concept was something cosmic and bigger than the both f us."

He continued, "It was in that moment that I felt compelled to give the guitar to Fred as a gift. I remember him staring at the instrument for a moment, and then he confided with me about the image on the Durst Burst, explaining that the baseball cap persona which so many people would both love and hate was simply Fred's take on an antagonistic Andy Kaufman bad guy wrestler persona, mixed with some Tony Clifton-isms for good measure, a secret that not many would know, let alone understand."
