Will Smith is making his way back to the world of social media. After sharing a video on July 29th in which he apologized for slapping Chris Rock at this year's Oscars, the Men in Black actor shared a meme Saturday (August 20th) to see how his social media return would be received.

"Me trying to get back on social media," he captioned the video of a baby gorilla poking an adult gorilla on the back before running away. The baby pokes the adult again, and the adult chases after him.

Fans welcomed the King Richard actor back with open arms. One person wrote, "We've missed you! Everyone goes through s--t. You're human, just like the rest of us! COME BACK WILL!"

On Sunday (August 21st), Smith shared a video of his son, Trey, catching a big spider. Smith films the encounter while standing on top of a chair, as Trey traps the spider under a glass. "Posting this from a Holiday Inn," he captioned the post.

Crunchyroll's Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero beat out Beast at the weekend box office, pulling in $20.1 million. In comparison, Beast claimed the number two spot with $11.57 million.

Meanwhile, Top Gun: Maverick became the ninth highest-grossing film ever with $1.403 billion worldwide. It also surpassed Avengers: Infinity War to claim the title for the sixth highest-grossing film at the domestic box office.

A source told the publication, "Apple invited too many friends to her mom's house, and things got out of hand. They were partying like rock stars and making so much noise that multiple neighbors were furious and called the police, who shut the party down. SCOTT DISICK INVOLVED IN CAR ACCIDENT NEAR CALABASAS: TMZ reports that The Kardashians star Scott Disick was in a single-car accident over the weekend. Law enforcement sources told the publication that Disick rolled his Lamborghini SUV while driving near Calabasas, California. He was reportedly alone in his car and suffered a minor cut to his head.

DANIELLE RUHL AND NICK THOMPSON BREAK UP: Danielle Ruhl and Nick Thompson are the latest Love is Blind couple to go their separate ways. Documents obtained by Us Weekly show that Ruhl filed for divorce from Thompson on August 15th. The pair just celebrated a year of marriage in June. At the time, Ruhl shared a video montage of their year together and captioned the post, "one year married!!!"

VIRGINIA PATTON DIES AT 97: Deadline reports that Virginia Patton, the last surviving adult cast member from It's a Wonderful Life, passed away on Thursday (August 18th) at the age of 97. Patton played George Bailey's sister-in-law in the holiday classic. She also held roles in The Burning Cross, Black Eagle, Thank Your Lucky Stars, Janie, Hollywood Canteen, and The Horn Blows at Midnight.

FIRST TWO EPISODES OF ‘THE RINGS OF POWER' TO BE SHOWN AT CINEMARK THEATERS: According to Variety, Cinemark will be screening the first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on August 31st, just two days before the series premieres on Amazon Prime Video. JOHN CORBETT TO REPRISE ‘SEX AND THE CITY' ROLE FOR ‘AND JUST LIKE THAT:' TVLine reports that John Corbett will return as Aidan Shaw for HBO Max's second season of And Just Like That. Carrie Bradshaw's furniture-making ex will reportedly appear on multiple episodes in the forthcoming season.

DAN LEVY TO JOIN FOURTH SEASON OF ‘SEX EDUCATION:' According to The Hollywood Reporter, Schitt's Creek star Dan Levy will be one of seven people joining the cast of the fourth season of Sex Education. Thaddea Graham, Marie Reuther, Felix Mufti, Anthony Lexa, Alexandra James, and Imani Yahshua will also be joining the series as regulars.

Bennifer 2.0's second wedding is just around the corner! Page Six reports that preparation for the big event has begun.

On Thursday (August 18th), a marquee was seen being constructed on Affleck's riverfront estate in Georgia.

The couple were also spotted out on the town in Savannah, Georgia, with family and friends. Affleck's 16-year-old daughter Violet was spotted with them, drinking coffee and walking alongside Affleck.

This comes a month after Lopez and Affleck got married for the first time in Las Vegas.

Brad Pitt's Make It Right Foundation has reached a $20.5 million settlement with the owners of the faulty homes the charity built following Hurricane Katrina. The environmental justice non-profit Global Green will be providing the $20.5 million, despite not being part of the 2018 class action lawsuit.

Pitt said in a statement, "I am incredibly grateful for Global Green's willingness to step up and provide this important support for the Lower Ninth families."

He continued, "We collaborated in the early days post-Katrina and we are very fortunate to have Global Green's generous continuing commitment to help address the challenges around these homes and others in need. Hopefully this agreement will allow everyone to look ahead to other opportunities to continue to strengthen this proud community in the future."

Nicholas Brendon, the actor who played Xander Harris on Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has been hospitalized after suffering a "cardiac incident."

According to his sister, Brendon was rushed to the emergency room approximately two weeks ago.

"Nicky sends his love and wanted me to apologize that he hasn't been going live as much lately and to give everyone an update. Nicky is doing fine now but he had to be rushed to emergency about two weeks ago because of a cardiac incident (tachycardia/arrhythmia)," his sister wrote in an Instagram post earlier this week.

She added, "He is trying to get a little more rest and has been concentrating on medical appointments."

On a recent episode of The Breakfast Club morning show, Idris Elba shared some family drama that occurred behind the scenes of his latest film Beast. The Luther actor said his 20-year-old daughter Isan didn't speak to him "for about three weeks" after being denied a part in the movie.

"She auditioned and it came down to chemistry in the end. She's great, but the relationship in the film and the relationship between my daughter was, the chemistry wasn't right for the film, weirdly enough," Elba said.

Fortunately, they were able to move past this hurdle, and Isan attended the premiere of the film with Elba earlier this month.

"She was very gracious about it and we got through that and I'm really proud of her to go through that, not get the role, but still come to the premiere," Elba said.

‘GREASE' WILL RETURN TO AMC THEATERS IN HONOR OF OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN: According to The Hollywood Reporter, AMC Theaters announced on Thursday (August 18th) that Grease will be playing at 135 of its theaters as a tribute to Olivia Newton-John, who passed away last week. Tickets will cost $5, and $1 for each ticket sold will go to AMC's charitable fund, AMC Cares. The proceeds will be donated to breast cancer research.

KENAN THOMPSON HINTS THERE MIGHT BE A ‘GOOD BURGER' SEQUEL: Kenan Thompson hinted at a Good Burger sequel on Wednesday's (August 17th) episode of The Tonight Show. Host Jimmy Fallon asked the Saturday Night Live star about an Instagram post he shared in July that celebrated the 25th anniversary of the 1997 film. "Are you saying that Good Burger 2 is happening?" Fallon asked. Thompson replied, "I would like it to! We are working harder on it than ever, so it's about meeting the numbers, letting them numbers match up. 'Cause I need them numbers."

WATCH THE FINAL TRAILER FOR ‘HOUSE OF THE DRAGON:' Just ahead of its premiere on Sunday (August 21st), HBO released a final trailer for House of the Dragon. The Game of Thrones prequel promises that "Fire Will Reign."

‘ABBOTT ELEMENTARY' GETS SEASON TWO RELEASE DATE: Entertainment Tonight reports that on Thursday (August 18th), ABC dropped a teaser for the second season of Abbott Elementary and announced its release date. The hit comedy series is set to return on September 21st.

Jonah Hill will no longer promote his films.

The Moneyball actor, who recently finished filming the mental health documentary Stutz, explained in an open letter published by Rolling Stone, that he won't be doing media appearances in order to "protect himself."

He wrote, "Through this journey of self-discovery within the film, I have come to the understanding that I have spent nearly 20 years experiencing anxiety attacks, which are exacerbated by media appearances and public facing events. You won't see me out there promoting this film, or any of my upcoming films, while I take this important step to protect myself."

He added, "I usually cringe at letters or statements like this but I understand that I am of the privileged few who can afford to take time off. I won't lose my job while working on my anxiety. With this letter and with Stutz, I'm hoping to make it more normal for people to talk and act on this stuff. So they can take steps towards feeling better and so that the people in their lives might understand their issues more clearly."

In addition to Stutz, Hill co-wrote and stars in the Netflix film You People, which comes out later this year.

Page Six is reporting that celebrity life coach and podcaster Jay Shetty is expected to officiate the wedding between Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck in Georgia this weekend.

According to the outlet, Shetty has been close with the "Let's Get Loud" singer for years.

The former Hindu monk and Accenture strategist, also officiated the wedding of Lily Collins and director Charlie McDowell in Colorado September last year.

Although the couple is celebrating with a three-day wedding at Affleck's estate in Riceboro, Georgia this weekend, they were officially wed in Las Vegas last month.

A coroner's report has revealed the official cause of death for Anne Heche.

The Men In Trees star died from smoke inhalation and thermal injuries stemming from the August 5th car crash that left her in a coma.

According to E! News, the report from the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner shows that other "significant conditions," including a sternal fracture due to blunt trauma, also contributed to her death.

Officials ruled that her August 11th death was an accident.

Chris Pratt penned a touching Instagram post to his son Jack on Wednesday (Aug. 17th).

The Jurassic World actor wished his "smart, handsome, kind hearted" first born a happy tenth birthday next to a picture of two sheep.

The couple welcomed their now six-year-old son in the fall of 2015.

AMY SCHUMER WASN'T MAKING FUN OF TOM HOLLAND: Amy Schumer is setting the record straight. The Trainwreck star says she was "not shading Spider-Man" when she parodied Tom Holland's Instagram post, announcing he needed a break from social media for his mental health. PRINCESS DIANA PREDICTED HER OWN DEATH: Princess Diana predicted her death according to a new investigation. The Daily Beast reported Wednesday (August 17th) that the Discovery+ docuseries The Diana Investigations found that the former royal told her lawyer, Victor Mischon, in 1995 that a car accident might be used to "get rid" of her. The four-part Discovery+ docuseries begins streaming on August 18th, just weeks prior to the 25th anniversary of the princess' death.

PETE DAVIDSON RARELY SEEN IN 'THE KARDAHIANS' SEASON 2: Don't expect Pete Davidson to feature heavily in Season 2 of The Kardashians. A source told Page Six that the Saturday Night Live alum is barely in the show. The insider said, "He's in the background, but the reality world is not built for people like Pete." They added that Davidson is a "very private Person" and that Kardashian "was always super respectful of that."

GWYNETH PALTROW TO JOIN 'SHARK TANK': Gwyneth Paltrow will appear as a guest shark on the 14th season of Shark Tank. Deadline reports that she will be joined by by DoorDash CEO and co-founder Tony Xu as a guest shark alongside long-standing Sharks Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, Lori Greiner, Robert Herjavec, Daymond John and Kevin O'Leary.

JORDAN ELSASS EXITING 'SUPERMAN & LOIS': Jordan Elsass will be exiting Superman & Lois prior to the show's third season. Warner Bros told E! News that Elsass, who played Lois and Clark Kent's teen son, Jonathan, is leaving the show for personal reasons and that his role will be recast.

TRAILER FOR 'WEDNESDAY' DROPS: Footage from Tim Burton's Wednesday series for Netflix dropped yesterday (August 17th). The trailer, featuring Jenna Ortega in the title role, shows the oldest Addams child torturing the Nancy Reagan High swim team by dropping piranhas into the pool and transferring to the Nevermore Academy.

On Monday (August 15th), Angelina Jolie was revealed as the "Jane Doe" who filed an anonymous 2016 lawsuit in which the plaintiff says she was "physically and verbally assaulted" by her "then-husband" on a plane.

According to a report published by Puck, Jolie alleged that Brad Pitt took her to the back of the plane, grabbed her shoulders and said, "You're f—cking up this family." She also claimed another physical altercation occurred on the same flight, during which she sustained injuries. Pitt allegedly was drinking and had poured beer on her as well.

After the FBI decided they would not pursue criminal charges against Pitt, Jolie filed an anonymous Freedom of Information Act suit to obtain documents regarding the investigation.

In 2016, the FBI and the Los Angeles Department of Child and Family Services were investigating Pitt for child abuse after an incident occurred on his family's private plane. The incident allegedly involved his 15-year-old son Maddox, who interrupted a fight between Pitt and Jolie.

Pitt's team denied the allegations in a statement to People: "He is emphatic that it did not reach the level of physical abuse, that no one was physically harmed. He did not hit his child in the face in any way. He did not do that; he is emphatic about that. He put his hands on him, yes, because the confrontation was spiraling out of control."

Following this incident, Jolie filed for divorce, and Pitt publicly quit drinking.

Following the FBI report that was released earlier this week, Alec Baldwin once again denied pulling the trigger on the gun that led to the death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. On Tuesday's (August 16th) episode of The Chris Cuomo Project, the 30 Rock star claimed the gun fired due to him "fanning" it.

"In old Western movies, you would see someone fan the hammer of the gun," Baldwin explained. "If you pull the hammer back and you don't lock the hammer … it would fire the bullet without you pulling the trigger."

Baldwin went on to say that what's important is finding out how live ammunition made it to the set. "The only question here is who put a live round in the gun," he said.

"I'm not the victim here. Things, for me, are gonna get better. Things, for me, are gonna get cleared up. I'm a thousand percent confident about that … The real tragedy here is what happened to this woman," Baldwin added.

Ezra Miller has broken their silence on the unsettling behavior they've exhibited in recent years. The Flash actor also apologized for their actions.

"Having recently gone through a time of intense crisis, I now understand that I am suffering complex mental health issues and have begun ongoing treatment," Miller said in an exclusive statement to Variety.

"I want to apologize to everyone that I have alarmed and upset with my past behavior. I am committed to doing the necessary work to get back to a healthy, safe and productive stage in my life."

The Justice League actor has made headlines for a number of troubling incidents, including choking a woman outside of a bar in Iceland in 2020, being arrested in twice this year in Hawaii for disorderly conduct and harassment, and most recently, being charged with felony burglary in Vermont.

Despite the controversy surrounding Miller, The Flash is still on track to hit theaters on June 23rd, 2023.

In a Harper's Bazaar interview published on Tuesday (August 16th), Florence Pugh confirmed that she and Zach Braff have gone their separate ways.

"We've been trying to do this separation without the world knowing, because it's been a relationship that everybody has an opinion on," the Black Widow actress said. Many have criticized the pair's age difference, as Pugh is 26 to Braff's 47.

"We just felt something like this would really do us the benefit of not having millions of people telling us how happy they are that we're not together. So we've done that. I automatically get a lumpy throat when I talk about it."

Pugh also commented on the trials and tribulations of being a celebrity. "I don't think that people, just because they have this job, that every aspect of their life should be watched and written about. We haven't signed up for a reality TV show," she added.

After Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at this year's Oscars, many stars shared their two cents—including The Batman actress Zoe Kravitz. Following this, the High Fidelity star received significant criticism.

"It's a scary time to have an opinion or to say the wrong thing or to make controversial art or statements or thoughts or anything," Kravitz said in a recent interview with WSJ. Magazine.

AARON RODGERS HAS A NICOLAS CAGE BUST IN HIS LOCKER: According to TMZ, Aaron Rodgers is a big fan of Nicolas Cage. On Tuesday (August 16th), the quarterback showed off a bust he had of Cage in his locker. This comes just weeks after he arrived to training camp dressed as Cage's character from Con Air. "It's Nic Cage," Rodgers told reporters, showing off the bust. He added that he "doesn't know who sent it."

WOLFGANG PETERSEN DIES AT 81: Deadline reports that Air Force One director Wolfgang Petersen passed away peacefully on Friday (August 12th) at his Brentwood residence, due to pancreatic cancer. He was 81 years old, and his wife of 50 years, Maria Antoinette, was holding him when he died. In addition to Air Force One, Petersen directed films such as The Perfect Storm, Das Boots, Outbreak, In the Line of Fire, Shattered, Troy, and Poseidon. Diane Lane remembered Petersen in a statement: "My heart is sad today. Wolfgang was a big, loving soul. A natural leader via positive encouragement; dare I say, he was a spiritual channel for us, grounding truly big stories to move us all through heights and depths. Literally, just being near him made me a better actor. My sincere condolences and love to his family."

LINDSEY PEARLMAN'S CAUSE OF DEATH IS REVEALED: According to People, the cause of death for General Hospital and Empire actress Lindsey Pearlman has been confirmed, following an autopsy by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner. Pearlman was found dead inside a car earlier this year near the entrance of Runyon Canyon Park. On Monday (August 15th), the coroner officially ruled her death a suicide due to sodium nitrite toxicity. She was 43 years old.

ROBERT DE NIRO TO STAR IN ‘WISE GUYS:' According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. Discovery's first original feature will be a period mobster drama starring Robert De Niro. The movie will be directed by Barry Levinson, who is known for films such as Rain Man and Wag the Dog.
