German Police Discover A Slug Was Behind Mystery Doorbell Pranks

Police in Schwabach, Bavaria, solved a case of late-night doorbell disturbances after discovering the culprit was a slug. Apartment residents called authorities when their doorbells repeatedly rang during nighttime hours, initially suspecting local youth were behind the pranks. The mystery deepened because motion sensor cameras at the building’s entrance failed to activate during the incidents. When officers investigated, they found a slug crawling across the doorbell panel, triggering multiple units as it moved. “There was a slug sitting right on our nameplate. You could even see its slime trail as it crawled across the sensors,” resident Dominik told newspaper Bild. Police resolved the situation by relocating the slug to a nearby grassy area, releasing it with a warning. (Story URL)
