Meghan Markle Teases A Return To Instagram

In a cover story for The Cut released on Monday (August 29th), Meghan Markle announced that she is planning on returning to Instagram, after previously deactivating her accounts due to bullying.

"I'm getting back … on Instagram," she said. The interviewer added that "her eyes were alight and devilish" as she said this. When Markle got engaged to Prince Harry in 2017, she had to give up control of her social media accounts, along with opening her own mail and other everyday activities.

"It was a big adjustment — a huge adjustment to go from that kind of autonomy to a different life," she said. The Suits actress added that there was "literally a structure" when it came to sharing photos of her kids.

"Why would I give the very people that are calling my children the N-word a photo of my child before I can share it with the people that love my child?" she asked. "You tell me how that makes sense and then I'll play that game."

Markle added that she's "still healing" when it comes to everything that happened with the royal family.

Harvey Weinstein Granted Right To Appeal Rape Conviction

Harvey Weinstein was granted an appeal by New York State of Appeals Chief Judge Janet DiFiore on Wednesday (August 24th). This comes more than two years after the former Hollywood mogul was sentenced to 23 years in prison for rape and sexual abuse.

Weinstein's attorney, Arthur L. Aidala, told Page Six, "This isn't about whether Weinstein is innocent or guilty, but if he got a fair trial or not a fair trial. It's about whether the trial judge followed the law."

The defense argues that the judge in Weinsten's case allowed multiple witnesses to testify about acts that, according to Aidala, "Harvey was never charged with. As well as the fact there was one juror who has written a book about sexual predators that she lied about during jury selection."

Aidala added that they "hope we would get a decision in late spring early summer of 2023," and that Weinstein could "be a free man in 2023 or 2024."

Horatio Sanz Accuser Says Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan, And Lorne Michaels Were 'Enablers' To Sexual Assault

On Tuesday (August 23rd), a Pennsylvania woman added Jimmy Fallon, Tracy Morgan, and Lorne Michaels to a 2021 lawsuit in which she accuses Saturday Night Live star Horatio Sanz of sexually assaulting her when she was 17.

The papers filed on Tuesday (August 23rd) state that Michaels created an environment at Saturday Night Live where underage teenage girls regularly attended the show's "after-parties" and "after-after parties." The documents also claim that Fallon and Morgan enabled the Jane Doe to be sexually assaulted by Sanz. According to People, Fallon and Sanz drank with the Jane Doe despite knowing that she was only 17, and Morgan rented out the space for an after party in May 2002—during which she said she was sexually assaulted by Sanz.

Susan Crumiller, the woman's attorney, said in a statement, "Sanz and his enablers lured Jane into their celebrity world and made her feel like a cool kid for drinking and partying with a bunch of famous grown-ups. Instead, they destroyed her life. Jane has spent the past two decades struggling with the repercussions of what they did to her; now it's their turn. We look forward to holding NBC, Sanz, and everyone else who enabled this disgusting behavior accountable when the GMVA lookback window opens in March."

Sanz has denied the allegations, and a spokesperson for NBC said in response to the filings, "Regardless of Jane Doe's changing narratives, NBC intends to renew its motion to dismiss."
