National Cinema Day brought audiences back to the theaters with $3 tickets on Saturday (September 3rd). However, according to Deadline, box office analysts are unclear which movie topped the chart over the weekend. Some are saying Top Gun: Maverick, but Sony claims the re-released Spider-Man: No Way Home is the winner.

Ariana Grande Getting Geared Up For 'Wicked'

Ariana Grande is gearing up for what is expected to be a role of a lifetime. She took to Instagram to share her excitement by posting several photos, one that teased her upcoming role in Wicked.

She will play Glinda in the film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning stage musical. The characters are based on the book from L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, which was turned into a movie in 1939.

Late last year, Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who will star as Elphaba were officially announced as the co-leaders of the new films. There will be two separate releases, the first is expected to be out for the Christmas season of 2024.

Armie Hammer Rape Claims Are Being Investigated By A 'Special' Prosecutor

A prosecutor has been "specially assigned" to investigate claims that Armie Hammer raped an ex-lover.

The filmmakers behind the new documentary House of Hammer told Page Six that the LAPD is still investigating claims that the actor assaulted an ex-girlfriend identified as Effie.

A spokesperson for the LA County District Attorney's office told the outlet, "Once law enforcement has completed their investigation and submits the case to our office, we will conduct an evaluation and file criminal charges that are supported by the evidence."

Hammer's lawyers deny the charges.

Jennifer Lopez And Ben Affleck Were Walked Down The Aisle By Their Children

Jennifer Lopez dropped new details about her wedding to Ben Affleck in Thursday's (September 1st) On the JLo newsletter.

Reports say that comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears are being accused of grooming a 14-year-old girl and her brother into performing inappropriate sexually suggestive acts in sketches. According to TMZ, the two unidentiied silings, going by Jane Doe and John Doe, have claimed that they've been traumatized for life ater the experience -- which occured when they were minors. The boy also claimed that he was molested by both defendants.

Jane Doe claimed that her brother was barley 7 when "Aunty Tiff" brought him to a home where she and Spears molested him while filming a Funny or Die video titled "Through a Pedophiles Eyes." In the suit, the siblings said they met Haddish through their mother who was friends with Haddish, adding that the Funny or Die video featuring John Doe was published online when he was too young to consent.

Jane Doe said that the incident has ruined her dating lie and that she is afraid to be "led down a path of false trust like the path that Haddish led her down."

TIFFANY HADDISH'S ATTORNEY RELEASES A STATEMENT

Meanwhile, Tiffany Haddish's attorney Andrew Bretler denied the allegations, claiming the suit is an extortion attempt. He also claimed that the plaintiff's mother, Trizah Morris, has been trying to "assert these bogus claims against Ms. Haddish for several years."

He said, "Every attorney who has initially taken on her case -- and there were several -- ultimately dropped the matter once it became clear that the claims were meritless and Ms. Haddish would not be shaken down. Now, Ms. Morris has her adult daughter representing herself in this lawsuit. The two of them will together face the consequences of pursuing this frivolous action."

Ashley Judd Says Police Treated Her 'Like A Suspect' Following Her Mother's Suicide

Ashley Judd wrote in a New York Times op-ed that authorities made her feel "like a suspect" as they interrogated her while she held her dying mother's "laboring body".

The 54-year-old actress wrote, "It is now well known that law enforcement personnel should be trained in how to respond to and investigate cases involving trauma, but the men who were present left us feeling stripped of any sensitive boundary, interrogated and, in my case, as if I was a possible suspect in my mother's suicide."

The second episode of Meghan Markle's podcast Archetypes was released on Tuesday (August 30th), featuring none other than the legendary Mariah Carey. Markle and Carey discussed the word "diva," as well as their experiences as biracial women.

JESSE LEE SOFFER IS LEAVING ‘CHICAGO P.D.' FOLLOWING 10TH SEASON: Variety reports that Jesse Lee Soffer will be leaving Chicago P.D. in the fall. Soffer joined the series when it debuted in 2014 and has been in all 187 episodes. "To create this hour drama week after week has been a labor of love by everyone who touches the show. I will always be proud of my time as Det. Jay Halstead," Soffer said in a statement.

RACHEL WILLIAMS SUES NETFLIX FOR ‘INVENTING ANNA' DEPICTION: Rachel Williams is suing Netflix for the way she was portrayed in Inventing Anna. The former Vanity Fair staffer, who was scammed by fake German heiress Anna Sorokin, is suing the streaming platform for defamation and false light invasion of privacy, according to court documents obtained by NBC News. An attorney for Williams said the series "made her out to be a horrible person, which she is not."
