However, according to Deadline, box office analysts are unclear which movie topped the chart over the weekend. Some are saying Top Gun: Maverick, but Sony claims the re-released Spider-Man: No Way Home is the winner.

Ariana Grande is gearing up for what is expected to be a role of a lifetime. She took to Instagram to share her excitement by posting several photos, one that teased her upcoming role in Wicked.

She will play Glinda in the film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning stage musical. The characters are based on the book from L. Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, which was turned into a movie in 1939.

Late last year, Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who will star as Elphaba were officially announced as the co-leaders of the new films. There will be two separate releases, the first is expected to be out for the Christmas season of 2024.

JORDANA BREWSTER MARRIES MASON MORFIT: People reports that Jordana Brewster and Mason Morfit tied the knot on Sunday (September 4th) in Redondo Beach, California. The couple had a Fast and Furious¬-style wedding, as the ceremony included various cars lined up from the films. Brewster's Fast and Furious costars were also in attendance, including Ludacris, Vin Diesel, and Paul Walker's daughter, Meadow.

SPENCER PRATT SAYS LISA KUDROW IS ‘ONE OF THE WORST HUMANS' HE'S EVER MET: The Hills alum Spencer Pratt has taken to TikTok to explain why Lisa Kudrow is "one of the worst humans" he's ever met. BARACK OBAMA AND CHADWICK BOSEMAN WIN EMMY AWARDS: The 2022 Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremonies were held on Saturday (September 3rd) and Sunday (September 4th). According to The New York Post, Barack Obama won an Emmy for narrating the Netflix documentary series Our Great National Parks. He is the second United States president to win an Emmy, behind Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. Chadwick Boseman also won a posthumous Emmy Award for outstanding character voiceover in the animated show What If…? Boseman's wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, accepted the award on his behalf. "Thank you so much for the honor. Chad would be so honored, and I'm honored on his behalf," she said. The Primetime Emmy Awards will air on NBC on Monday (September 12th), hosted by Kenan Thompson.

BRENDAN FRASER BREAKS DOWN IN TEARS DURING VENICE PREMIERE OF ‘THE WHALE:' Variety reports that Brendan Fraser sobbed during a six-minute standing ovation following the world premiere of his new film The Whale at the Venice Film Festival Sunday night (September 4th). The Mummy actor plays a 600-pound gay man who is confined to a wheelchair in the film.

NETFLIX CASTS PRINCE WILLIAM AND KATE MIDDLETON ROLES IN ‘THE CROWN:' According to Entertainment Tonight, Netflix has found its Duke and Duchess of Cambridge for the sixth season of The Crown. Rufus Kampa is set to play a young Prince William, while Ed McVey will portray his later years. Meg Bellamy is set to play Kate Middleton.

A prosecutor has been "specially assigned" to investigate claims that Armie Hammer raped an ex-lover.

The filmmakers behind the new documentary House of Hammer told Page Six that the LAPD is still investigating claims that the actor assaulted an ex-girlfriend identified as Effie.

A spokesperson for the LA County District Attorney's office told the outlet, "Once law enforcement has completed their investigation and submits the case to our office, we will conduct an evaluation and file criminal charges that are supported by the evidence."

Hammer's lawyers deny the charges.

Jennifer Lopez dropped new details about her wedding to Ben Affleck in Thursday's (September 1st) On the JLo newsletter.

The Marry Me star shared that she and Affleck were each walked down the aisle by their children as Marc Cohn performed "The Things We've Handed Down." The singer also performed his song, "True Companion," which the newlyweds agreed was a "perfect wedding love song" when they first dated more than 20 years ago.

Lopez also revealed that during a wedding speech, Affleck quoted his film, Live By The Night, saying, "This is heaven. Right Here. We're in it now."

Reports say that comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears are being accused of grooming a 14-year-old girl and her brother into performing inappropriate sexually suggestive acts in sketches. According to TMZ, the two unidentiied silings, going by Jane Doe and John Doe, have claimed that they've been traumatized for life ater the experience -- which occured when they were minors. The boy also claimed that he was molested by both defendants.

Jane Doe claimed that her brother was barley 7 when "Aunty Tiff" brought him to a home where she and Spears molested him while filming a Funny or Die video titled "Through a Pedophiles Eyes." In the suit, the siblings said they met Haddish through their mother who was friends with Haddish, adding that the Funny or Die video featuring John Doe was published online when he was too young to consent.

Jane Doe said that the incident has ruined her dating lie and that she is afraid to be "led down a path of false trust like the path that Haddish led her down."

TIFFANY HADDISH'S ATTORNEY RELEASES A STATEMENT

Meanwhile, Tiffany Haddish's attorney Andrew Bretler denied the allegations, claiming the suit is an extortion attempt. He also claimed that the plaintiff's mother, Trizah Morris, has been trying to "assert these bogus claims against Ms. Haddish for several years."

He said, "Every attorney who has initially taken on her case -- and there were several -- ultimately dropped the matter once it became clear that the claims were meritless and Ms. Haddish would not be shaken down. Now, Ms. Morris has her adult daughter representing herself in this lawsuit. The two of them will together face the consequences of pursuing this frivolous action."

Lea Michele says the internet rumors about her illiteracy are sexist.

The Glee alum told the New York Times, "There's a rumor online that I can't read or write? It's sad. It really is. I think often if I were a man, a lot of this wouldn't be the case."

Sources tell Page Six that the model left their family compound in Tampa, Florida and headed to Costa Rica following a series of arguments over the quarterback's decision to return to the NFL.

One insider added, "There's been trouble in the marriage over his decision to un-retire. Gisele has always been the one with the kids. They had agreed he would retire to focus on the family, then he changed his mind."

ANNE HECHE DIED WITHOUT A WILL: Anne Heche died without a will and her 20-year-old son is looking to oversee her estate. According to court documents obtained by E! News, Homer Laffoon filed a petition to manage her estate after she died from injuries sustained during a car crash last month. The documents show that the Men in Trees actress' estate consists of two heirs, Laffoon, and his half-brother, Atlas Tupper.

SHARON STONE GOT DUMPED FOR NOT USING BOTOX: Sharon Stone stopped getting Botox and it cost her a boyfriend. She told Vogue Arabia that using over 300 shots of injectables and filler to fix her face after a massive stroke made Botox switch from a "cute luxury to some kind of massive, painful neurological need." When a recent boyfriend discovered the Basic Instinct actress was done with injectables, he left. She told the outlet, "If you don't see me for more than that, you'll please find your way to the exit."

The streamer previously announced that she will star in the holiday rom-com, Falling For Christmas, which will premiere in November.

PAUL DANO, SETH ROGEN, SEBASTIAN STAN AND PETE DAVIDSON TEAM UP FOR 'DUMB MONEY': Sources tell Deadline that Paul Dano, Seth Rogen, Sebastian Stan and Pete Davidson are on board for Black Bear Pictures' Dumb Money, an adaptation of Ben Mezrich's book The Antisocial Network. Craig Gillespie will direct.

Ashley Judd wrote in a New York Times op-ed that authorities made her feel "like a suspect" as they interrogated her while she held her dying mother's "laboring body".

The 54-year-old actress wrote, "It is now well known that law enforcement personnel should be trained in how to respond to and investigate cases involving trauma, but the men who were present left us feeling stripped of any sensitive boundary, interrogated and, in my case, as if I was a possible suspect in my mother's suicide."

The second episode of Meghan Markle's podcast Archetypes was released on Tuesday (August 30th), featuring none other than the legendary Mariah Carey. Markle and Carey discussed the word "diva," as well as their experiences as biracial women.

Carey shared that she moved more than a dozen times as a child. "I didn't fit in. I didn't fit in. You know, it would be more of the Black area of town or then you could be where my mom chose to live, were the more, the white neighborhoods. And I didn't fit in anywhere at all," she said.

Markle let the "Always Be My Baby" singer know how much it meant to see her rise to fame. "You were so formative for me. Representation matters so much. Kids say the darndest things! Hilary Duff shared text messages from her assistant to Instagram on Monday (August 29th), revealing the hilarious things her three-year-old daughter said to her soccer coaches about the Lizzie McGuire star.

"Whoaaa! Don't trust your kids!" Duff wrote in her Instagram stories, sharing screenshots of text messages with her assistant Lauren. Apparently, Duff's daughter Banks "ousted sic her to the soccer coaches."

After more than four years together, Don't Look Up actor Leonardo DiCaprio and Bukowski actress Camila Morrone have reportedly decided to go their separate ways. The pair began dating in 2018, and they made their debut as a couple at the Oscars in February 2020.

Earlier this year, DiCaprio and Morrone were photographed celebrating the Fourth of July together at a beach in Malibu. In August, Morrone was spotted with her mother in St. Tropez, while DiCaprio was seen out to dinner with friends in Los Angeles last week.

JAMES VAN DER BEEK SUES SIRIUS XM OVER PODCAST DEAL: According to Us Weekly, Dawson's Creek star James Van Der Beek has filed a lawsuit against Sirius XM and Stitcher regarding a podcast deal. Court documents show Van Der Beek is suing them for $700,000 plus damages. The documents read, "Van Der Beek had other offers and potential partners to choose from in order to develop this project. However, relying on the contractual agreement reached with Defendants, Plaintiff stopped negotiating with other buyers and affirmatively rejected those other offers (as well as other acting opportunities)."

KHLOE KARDASHIAN BREAKS SILENCE ON NEWBORN SON: In a recent interview with Elle, Khloe Kardashian commented on the baby boy she had via surrogacy recently with her ex, Tristan Thompson. When the interviewer asked how she was handling being "a mom of two," The Kardashians star said, "I know it's cliché, but I love everything, even the hard parts." CHARLBI DEAN DIES AT 32: According to Deadline, South African actress Charlbi Dean died on Monday (August 29th) in New York City, due to an unexpected illness. She was just 32 years old. Dean starred in the Palme d'Or-winning film Triangle of Sadness, which is expected to debut in U.S. theaters on October 7th. She also had a recurring role on the CW's Black Lightning.

JESSE LEE SOFFER IS LEAVING ‘CHICAGO P.D.' FOLLOWING 10TH SEASON: Variety reports that Jesse Lee Soffer will be leaving Chicago P.D. in the fall. Soffer joined the series when it debuted in 2014 and has been in all 187 episodes. "To create this hour drama week after week has been a labor of love by everyone who touches the show. I will always be proud of my time as Det. Jay Halstead," Soffer said in a statement.

RACHEL WILLIAMS SUES NETFLIX FOR ‘INVENTING ANNA' DEPICTION: Rachel Williams is suing Netflix for the way she was portrayed in Inventing Anna. The former Vanity Fair staffer, who was scammed by fake German heiress Anna Sorokin, is suing the streaming platform for defamation and false light invasion of privacy, according to court documents obtained by NBC News. An attorney for Williams said the series "made her out to be a horrible person, which she is not."

CHECK OUT THE TEASER FOR ‘LOOK AT ME:' Entertainment Tonight reports that a teaser for Look At Me, featuring Chris Rock and Javier Bardem, was dropped on Tuesday (August 30th). The 16-minute short, directed by Sally Potter, will debut at the Venice Film Festival on September 9th.
