British Columbia Man Arrested For Driving Pink Barbie Jeep On Busy Street

Police in British Columbia arrested a man Friday morning after he drove a child-sized pink Barbie Jeep on busy city streets. Police began receiving calls around 9 a.m. about the toy vehicle creating traffic hazards. “The streets were very busy at the time. Our police officer conducted a traffic stop with the vehicle to assess what was happening,” said Cpl. Jennifer Cooper. Officers discovered the driver had a suspended license and arrested him for prohibited driving. Police suspected alcohol impairment and administered two breathalyzer tests, which the man allegedly failed. He received a 90-day driving prohibition and must appear in court later. Cooper explained that regardless of size or speed, the law defines motor vehicles as conveyances “powered by anything other than muscular power.” (Story URL)
